Today we remember the 25th anniversary of the Nuclear Disaster at Reactor No.4 at the Ukrainian city of Chernobyl, Pripyat. To  this day there have been 980,000 deaths from radiation in the following  20 years after the explosion of the power station; with 6000 only in  the first few weeks.  We remember the six hundred thousand liquidators, who went into ‘the zone’ to pile cement and built the tomb that now holds the reactor of chernobyl.Of that number;Russians: 25,000 dead - 60,000 DisabledUkrainians: 25,000 dead - 70,000 DisabledBelarus: 10,000 dead - 25,000 DisabledOne in ten dead, one in three disabled. Hero’s and patriots, who have given their lives to save a worse fate for others.

Today we commemorate the 66th annicersary of ‘the meeting on the elbe river’.

The US 69th Infantry Division of the First Army and the Soviet 58th Guards Division of the 5th Guards Army met at Torgau, southwest of Berlin.

Arrangements were made for the formal “Handshake of Torgau” between Robertson and Silvashko in front of photographers.
